  1. You must look within and evaluate your behavior that resulted in becoming overweight

  2. An overweight or obese body frequently experiences joint pain because of the extra pounds

  3. Living in a body that causes physical discomfort will also cause emotional discomfort

  4. Everyone will not see or understand your struggle

  5. You cannot hide an overweight or obese body

  6. Witnessing another person’s weight loss success is evidence that you too can achieve “your” weight loss or weight maintenance

  7. Part of your journey to healthy living may require standing alone—momentarily

  8. Understanding portion control is essential to achieving healthy weight loss and maintenance

  9. Incorporating fat mobilization into your exercise routine can expedite the weight loss process

  10. Self-care, including adequate sleep, massage therapy, celebration of small and big victories, is key
